Munich – The online manufacturing marketplace Xometry Europe recently collaborated with the team behind the design software Autodesk® Fusion 360™. This means that Autodesk users can now get an instant quote and a binding delivery date for their part within seconds. They don’t even need to leave the Fusion 360™ environment; all they have to do is use the instant quoting feature on the Xometry app. Autodesk customers can download the Xometry app for free from the Autodesk Fusion 360 App Store.
This innovative collaboration means that engineers can now make design changes and see the resulting cost difference in seconds. They can also instantly see if the part can still be manufactured based on the suggested changes. Thanks to this collaboration between Autodesk and Xometry Europe, designers can now create better parts and innovate more frequently.
“Designers can now see all the information about pricing, lead times and feasibility while they are still working on a part. The app expedites the innovation process in a revolutionary way,” says Dmitry Kafidov, Managing Director of Xometry Europe.
Srinath Jonnalagadda, Vice President of Industry Strategy at Autodesk, also believes that the partnership is hugely beneficial for users: “Our aim is to remove barriers, early in the design process, to understanding what a part will cost to manufacture and how choosing new processes or more sustainable materials could increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and make a product more relevant. To that end, more closely coupling Xometry's capabilities with Fusion is a no-brainer.”
Xometry is the world’s largest online manufacturing marketplace. Harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI), it processes production orders that use a wide variety of technologies, such as injection moulding and additive processes. The platform paves the way for the efficient distribution of resources by drawing on a huge network of production partners. This means that customers can always find a company with free production capacities.
Our partner companies also benefit from this set-up as they can better utilise their machines by easily taking on new orders via Xometry during idle times. Xometry users include small start-ups and private individuals as well as large industrial groups. Find out more at www.xometry.eu.
